Over the last few weeks, very little information on the now popular All Aboard Florida has hit the news outlets. Rumors have it that they have being working hard  behind the scenes to ensure that every goes on as planned in regard to the construction of the railroad. According to ExMiami, one of the scenes involved negotiating with Miami Dade for purchase of a piece of land that is currently under the custody of Grand Central Station.

Currently, the piece of land acts as a VIP parking lot for the Mayor guests. It also houses a county government day care. Amazing Right! Unfortunately, next to this land is the coveted “oval”.   AFF (All Aboard Florida) can put this piece of land into good use by establishing a parking garage or better yet a bus terminal. Or the geniuses behind this plan could decide to construct the bus terminal in another area.

It goes without saying that the current daycare and parking lot on the land in question is significantly underutilized. The word “Mayor’ is clearly articulated in very conspicuous letters on the Metro-rail Platform. What about “The Oval”? These grounds were previously used as a camping site by Occupy Miami. It would be nice to use it as for a public space or nice park outside the proposed station. Only time will tell if all these expectations will come true
