Ugo Colombo has finally revealed what he is planning to do with the Brickell Flatiron, a site he purchased towards the end of last year. He is planning on building a huge condo tower. The Brickell Flatiron Tower will be located to the north of Metro mover tracks and where the current Flatiron Park is situated.

It is designed by Luis Revuelta, this can only mean one thing; this tower is going to be tall and huge. Standing at 750 feet tall with 65 floors, it will contain more than 500 units. Some of the amenities that will be found in it include swimming pools, restaurants, retail shops, spas and double-height penthouses. The tower will also have elliptical balconies that are 11 foot deep. The exteriors will be made of glass from top to bottom.

Ugo Colombo is a veteran Miami developer. He is in the final stages of making negotiations with the Russian developer of The Capital Group, Vladislav Doronin. The two will work towards developing Flatiron Tower and another second building that will be built in future. Doronin, who is also known as Russia’s Donald Trump is a billionaire developer who is loved by the paparazzi. His relationship with supermodel Naomi Campbell received quite a lot of media attention but it ended last year.

Colombo has plans underway to launch the sales of units that will be located on the Brickell Flatiron on Tuesday. The name Flatiron is derived from its triangular shape which resembles the old-fashioned flatiron pieces of clothing that were heated on stoves.

Luis Revuelta commented that it is no easy task working with a triangle. Triangular-shaped buildings require one to asses many options in order to have all factors integrated and work together. Revuelta has designed numerous projects for Colombo over the last two decades. This is the first project Colombo will be undertaking after the recent recession. He recently returned from his native country Italy, where he was shopping for materials needed for the project. You can therefore expect the units to have high quality marble for the kitchen and bath materials.

Prospective buyers  can contact Luca Migliore, and will be required to pay a 20% deposit upon signing a contract. 10% will be required during ground breaking, another 10% when the building reaches the 18th floor and finally another 10% at top-off. Colombo said the ground breaking is expected to take place by the end of the year, or maybe even before.
